We are six short weeks away from Edith turning one, as I type this I find myself a little in shock that just like that the first year of parenthood is over. With that comes the big event the very first birthday! I plan to write a blog post in the upcoming week about how we are approaching Edith’s first birthday and the ideas we have for celebrating but right now lets talk about her birthday wish list!
First off I want to say that this is just a big list of ideas of things that have stood out to Neil and I over the past few months. Edith does not need all of these items, really she only needs one or two of the fun things total. The only exception is that she really does need all of the items in the need category but as you will see those aren’t so fun. Also just a disclaimer that all of the Amazon links are affiliate links.
Something To Wear:

Edith is small and therefore we have been pretty lucky not to need a lot of sizes in clothes because she tends to wear her clothes longer however we are getting to the point where she only has a few 12-18 month items and she is quickly starting to move towards that size so she is in need of 12-18 months and 24 months clothes.
For accessories she is really need of some fun sunglasses, Neil and I both got new pairs and she is in love with them so it would be fun for her to have her own pair. As for the headbands, they really help distinguish her as a girl. We prefer to buy more gender neutral clothes or colors that are more blues, greens and blacks with some pinks mixed in and often she is called a little boy which doesn’t bother us so much but bows and headbands seem to help from having to explain that she is a girl and saves the confused person from feeling awkward.
Oh and see that gDiaper up there? We are in love with them but apparently 6 covers is proving not to be enough so another one or two would be great.

We haven’t started potty training yet but we are planning to start doing more elimination communication soon which hopefully turns into potty training (eventually-no rush), until then we could really use a new wet bag for outing. Along the potty/diaper theme Edith could really use some diaper area wash.
Also Since it is getting nicer out and we try and go outside for a little bit each day we need to protect that fair baby skin! Oh and have you seen Edith’s hair lately? It can get pretty out of control so little lady needs her own soft brush.
Somewhere to Sit:
Obviously Edith doesn’t need all three of these but she would like one. She has really gotten into sitting on things lately and will sit up on the couch with us or outside on her little lawn chair so it would be nice for her to have her own little seat.
Something To Read:
Edith loves books so a few new ones couldn’t hurt! Also mom and dad could use a new ones in the rotation, you can only read Goodnight Vermont so many times.
Something To Play With:
Puzzles make wonderful learning toys and Edith is finally at the age where they starting to interest her. We have played with some similar ones at the library and although she hasn’t learned how to put all the pieces in (yet) she seems to enjoy them.
Something To Push, Pull or Ride:
Edith loves music and has a tambourine and some egg shakers that she loves so why not add to the band with a few other musical toys? Edith is also getting to the age where she doesn’t want to eat everything so it would be fun to have her paint and color some. Bonus: these paints and crayons are food grade so if she does decide to give them a taste test there is nothing to worry about.
I know this seems like a long list but like I said above she doesn’t need everything they are just some fun ideas for a one-year-old to be’s birthday!

After our FB message about the walker, I spent the afternoon making G’s birthday wishlist. Then I saw you posted this and realized I could have saved myself a lot of work 😉
For Abrielle’s first and bday I said no gifts (she gets supremely spoiled by friends and family all year) but of course no one listened. To be honest, I don’t listen when people tell me not to bring a gift either! If people really push my go to is always books or a ontribution to her college fund.
