This summer on our drive back from Bend we were in dire need of finding a restroom. Being in a more rural area finding a spot to stop was as challenge but then we saw it a sign for Barlow Wayside Park. We decided to take a chance in hopes that this park would have a bathroom and to our surprise and delight it not only had a bathroom it also had hiking paths. We took the opportunity to stop, explore and get some of our wiggles out. 
The trails at Barlow Wayside Park are not only kid friendly they part of an interpretive trail which if you know our family we love interpretive trails. We totally geek out over brochures filled with information about the spaces around us.
So we grabbed an interpretive trail brochure and headed out on a short hike that promised waterfalls, wildlife and a forested wonderland.

Length of Hike: 1.5 miles with shorter loops available
Recommended For Ages: 3+. Must be comfortable hiking up some slightly steeper spots and built in stairs.
Why We Loved It: We loved the self-guided natural history tour, the length, and the lush green forest.
