This past Saturday Edith turned 8 months old. It is crazy how fast time is going and how much closer to a toddler than a baby she is getting everyday. I love how much she is growing but if we could slow it down just a bit I wouldn’t mind.
Weight: Around 13.5-14lbs.
Height: Around 26 3/4 inches.
Likes: Loves standing. Playing in the water at the Portland Children’s Museum. Trips to OMSI. Music. Belly tickles. Nursing.
Dislikes: Getting her diaper changed. Being in the car for too long. Teething.
Sleeping: We have been all over the place when it comes to sleep this month. Napping is only happening on me, in the car or in her stroller lately. Night sleeping went from not great (up every 2-3 hours), to amazing (in bed by 8pm, up at 4am and up for the day at 6:30am), and then back to horrible due to teething (up every hour). I am hoping that this whole teething thing ends soon and that we might see some teeth after everything she has been through the past few days.
Eating: Edith is still nursing 8-10 times per day but she is also eating solids 3-5 times per day. We sit down and have at least two meals with her and I also offer her snacks or bites of my food when I am snacking throughout the day. She is really mastering the art of feeding herself and over the past few days has really improved upon how much actually makes it into her mouth verses over her shoulder, on the floor or in her highchair. I know I have been saying this for weeks but my goal this week is to write a series of post on our approach to solids.
Playing: We have memberships to both OMSI and the Portland Children’s Museum and I take Edith to both almost every week. We also have been going to a few mom and baby meet up groups which have been really great because we are meeting babies Edith’s age and I’m connecting with some other adults. We have also been to a baby book/music group at the local library and I hope we can go more once the weather is nice and Neil bikes to work (the trouble with having one car). Edith is really loving interacting/seeing other babies and is becoming more and more social.
Wearing: E is in a weird place where she can still wear 3-6 month clothes but pants are tough when she is wearing her cloth diaper, however 6-12 month pants are still a bit too big even with the cloth diaper and 9 month clothes are a challenge to find.
Here are some 8 month photos:

She is just so happy looking! So glad that you all are connecting with other babies and mommas, and I’d love to read about solids 🙂

Too cute! I hope her teeth start coming in! I totally understand what you mean about the cloth diapers and the fit of things. Harriet is probably still solidly in 3-6 months but the cloth diapers make that size pant too short but she is swimming in the next size! I’ve heard Hanna Andersson brand baby clothes are really cloth diaper friendly, but haven’t given them a try yet. I’m looking forward to upcoming posts on solids!
