In honor of World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Month
When I was pregnant I found myself quickly growing out of my regular bras so by my second trimester I decided to pick up a few as well a few nursing tanks. Let me tell you this was the best decision that I have made and my breasts were certainly thankful that I did.
Now let’s talk nursing bras because as I have come to find out there are a number of different options. Here are the ones that I have and my thoughts.
Gilligan & OMalley® Fashion Nursing Sleep Bra
This is one of my favorite bras that I have purchased. There is no underwire and it is super comfortable. I also love the lace detail which makes it feel a little sexy rather than just a nursing bra. It is also great to wear at night. I do wish though that I had purchased it a size larger than I had because it is a little tight around the band now (I purchased it at 22 weeks).
Gilligan & OMalley® Womens Nursing 2 Pk Bra
I bought this two pack of nursing bras for lounging around the house and to wear at night. I find that they are similar to a sports bra with less support. They are so comfortable to wear. I would definitely recommend these to any nursing mom.
Gilligan & OMalley® Womens Lace Underwire Nursing Bra
I purchased two of these one in white and the other in black. I loved them because they reminded me more of a regular bra than a nursing bra and I mean who doesn’t love lace? They are both really comfortable …unless of course you are actually breastfeeding. Unfortunately these are now my least favorite bras because of the underwire. Nursing and underwire do not mix.
Gilligan & OMalley® Womens Side Sling Nursing Cami
These nursing camis where the best purchases that I made for both nursing and pregnancy. They are nice and long and covered my pregnant belly and still cover my postpartum tummy. They are super comfortable and I wear them all the time, so much so that I really need to buy myself a few more. I would recommend having at least four nursing camis. They are great for wearing under t-shirts for nursing so that when you lift your shirt to nurse in public your stomach is still covered (if that matters to you).
Leading Lady Lace-Cup Wirefree Nursing Bra
I saved my favorite nursing bra for last, it was sent to me from LeadingLady.com. Of all the nursing bras that I have this one fits the best, is the most comfortable and I absolutely love the lace on it. This bra makes nursing bras looks sexy, which I think is important to remember- nursing bras don’t have to be ugly and frumpy!
