I know it has been a few weeks now but I wanted to share our little camping getaway. Over Labor Day Weekend we headed North West to Sou’Wester Lodge in Seaview, Washington. Sou’Wester has a lodge, cabins, vintage trailers and a spot for RV camping as well. Neil had visited a few months before on a work retreat and fell in love so obviously he had to take us back. We decided to stay in the Air Float, one of the vintage trailers which unfortunately was sold and is probably no longer there now.
Sou’Wester is conveniently only 15 miles from one of our favorite coastal towns Astoria, famously known for The Goonies. It is also only about 1/4 mile walk from the beach which made for some really fun adventures with Edith. When we weren’t touring around Astoria or hanging out at the beach we hung around the campsite playing card games, making a fire to roast (vegan) marshmallows over, took in some Sunday morning live music and did a little thrift shopping at the thrift shop trailer.
We had an amazing time and scoped out some of the other trailers since of course we plan on going back next year. We also are now dreaming of the day that we can afford to buy our own Airstream or Airfloat or something similar. Seriously I think we are addicted! I now see Airstreams everywhere and I have a plan to buy one for our 20th wedding anniversary (only 14 years and 8 months to go!)
Did you go camping this summer? Have you ever stayed in an Airstream? Do you have an Airstream and are they as dreamy as I think they are?
